Composition
For this campaign, I was commissioned as the graphic designer to create a full vinyl bus wrap for Elite Model Look. I was supplied with a selection of model shots, the logos, a group photograph intended for the rear of the vehicle, and a brief to promote the agency's website address, all typeset in the Avant Garde typeface, its signature geometric sans-serif.
The goal being obviously maximum visibility, I envisioned a black bus, striking and elegant, in keeping with the agency's black-and-white brand identity.
- On the sides, a frieze of model portraits running at window level, with a large Elite Model Look logo at the center, set against a photo-gallery background, the partners' logos along the top and the website address below.
- On the front, a simple logo + web address reminder.
- On the rear, the group photograph alongside the lead partner's logo.
I also prepared an alternative version with the photo-gallery background extended across the entire sides of the vehicle.
As revisions were frequent, the artwork had to remain modular, notably to allow for swapping in the logos of certain partners that had not yet been confirmed at the time of delivery of the campaign.
The advertiser wanted to keep the background-pattern concept, but built from the lettering of the Elite logo.
With the black background approved, the final retained version features the "e" character as a light gray pattern.
An Elite logo was ultimately produced as die-cut lettering to be applied to the front window of the upper deck.
Approved version for print:
Because nothing says "final artwork" like a client still debating the rear while it's on the press, fortunately, the printing and installation teams were extremely responsive.
